Sanitation Towel is an independent editorial site covering sanitation, hygiene, and home care. We exist for one reason: most online cleaning advice is copy-pasted, unverified, and written by people who have never tested the products they recommend. We do the testing, cite the evidence, and write in plain English.
Who runs the site
The site is founded and edited by Lily Hart, a health and wellness writer with a Master of Public Health from the University of California and more than a decade covering hygiene, women's health, and home care. Before launching Sanitation Towel, Lily wrote for several public-health publications and consulted on consumer-education content for healthcare brands.
Lily personally reviews every article on this site for factual accuracy and editorial tone. Where a topic requires clinical expertise, she collaborates with licensed healthcare professionals.
Our editorial standards
- Evidence first. Health claims are cited to peer-reviewed research, public health bodies (CDC, WHO, NHS), or manufacturer documentation. Anecdote alone is not a source.
- We test before we recommend. Product recommendations are based on hands-on use, not affiliate commission rates.
- We update. Articles carry a "last updated" date. When new research emerges, we revise and note what changed.
- We disclose. Affiliate relationships are stated on every page that contains one. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
- We don't replace your doctor. Health content is educational, never diagnostic. See our Medical Disclaimer.
How we review products
For any product we recommend, we use it ourselves for a minimum of two weeks, photograph our results, and compare it against at least two alternatives in the same category. If we cannot personally test a product (for example, a new launch), we say so and rely on manufacturer specifications plus independent verified reviews.
How we make money
Sanitation Towel earns income through affiliate partnerships, primarily the Amazon Associates program. When you buy a product through a link on this site, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This income funds our testing, hosting, and editorial time. It never determines what we recommend.
